  • USA Rice Promotions Target Growing Institutional Sector in Mexico

    Last year, USA Rice conducted market research into the institutional sector in Mexico with funding from USDA's Emerging Markets Program. That research found that while the institutional sector as a whole consumed more than twice the amount of rice as the average Mexican, there were several middle-sized companies that were willing to, and interested in, increasing their usage of rice, if they could learn more.   • New Trade Promotion Authority Bill Could Jump Start Trade Negotiations

    Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) legislation was finally introduced in Congress today with a bill from Senate Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-UT), Ranking Member Ron Wyden (D-OR) and House Ways & Means Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-WI) making an appearance following lengthy negotiations between the leaders.
