The Rice Foundation is raffling off the pick up truck that will be used during the 2019 Think Rice Road Trip promotion program. The vehicle was acquired new, but will have had as many as 5,000 miles put on the vehicle over the course of the promotion program.
Raffle tickets will go on sale in September 2019 and the random drawing for the vehicle will take place on December 10, 2019 during the 2019 USA Rice Outlook Conference. The winner need not be present.
Raffle tickets will be sold at a price of $75 for one ticket, $200 for 3 tickets, or $300 for 5 tickets.
Purchase of tickets is open to any resident of the United States, 18 and over, and there is no limit to the number of tickets an individual may purchase. No more than 2,000 tickets will be made available for sale and a minimum of 600 tickets must be sold. A valid U.S. social security number or tax ID will be required to claim the prize.
The Think Rice Pick Up Truck is a 2019 Ford F-150 XLT with a MSRP of $51,785. USA Rice will pay federal, state, and local taxes associated with transfer of the vehicle to the winner and pay for transportation of the vehicle to an address in the United States specified by the winner at the time of the drawing. Winner will be responsible for registering the vehicle in his or her state.
By IRS declaration, ticket purchases are not eligible for charitable tax deductions and are void where prohibited.
Odds of winning are 1:2,000.
Ticket sales will end when 2,000 tickets have been sold, or at 12:00 pm Central Time on Tuesday, December 107, 2018, whichever comes first. In the event less than 600 tickets are sold, the drawing will be postponed until such time as the minimum number of tickets have been sold.
Prize: One prize will be given away. Grand Prize: a 2019 Ford F-150 XLT with a MSRP of $51,785.
The winner will be determined by random public drawing during the 2019 USA Rice Outlook Conference and the winner need not be present to win. The winner will be publicly announced at the conclusion of the drawing, including an announcement via Conference social media channels and website. If the winner is not present, he or she will be notified by phone and certified return receipt mail within 7 days of the drawing and must claim the Grand Prize within 72 hours. At the time of the drawing, a provisional winner will also be drawn. In the event the Grand Prize winner does not claim the prize, the provisional winner will be notified and can claim the Grand Prize. If the prize is not claimed by December 31, 2019, it will be forfeited, and ownership will remain with The Rice Foundation. This deadline does not apply if the drawing is postponed due to insufficient ticket sales.
The Rice Foundation will be responsible for all local, state and federal taxes for the vehicle, however the prize winner will be responsible for title, transfer fees, license duties, insurance. The Internal Revenue Service requires that the winner of any prizes valued at $600 or more be issued a Form W-2G. The Grand Prize winner understands, acknowledges, and agrees that the Grand Prize winner is receiving a prize and will hereby release and discharge The Rice Foundation and their employees, agents, officers, directors and legal representatives and assigns from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses or expenses arising from or caused by the award of such prize, including, but not limited to the payment of any and all fees that are due.
The Rice Foundation, its Board of Directors, and its agents assume no liability for lost, late, misdirected, mutilated, incomplete, illegible, or entries without payment which will be deemed invalid and disqualified.
The decisions and rules of The Rice Foundation are final on all matters concerning the raffle.
