Meet U.S. Rice Farmers
American Rice Farmers
More than 80 percent of the rice consumed in the United States is grown on family farms across the six major rice-producing states: Arkansas, California, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Texas.
More than 5,500 American rice farmers directly support more than 14,600 jobs, generating $1.56 billion in direct labor income. On average, each rice farm contributes $1 million to their local economy.
Read more about our farmers — their stories, their love of the land, and the many varieties of rice they grow.
