Meet U.S. Rice Farmers
Fred Zaunbrecher
Rayne
Multi-Generational Farmer
Favorite Rice Dish is sautéed chicken stew over rice
Fred Zaunbrecher has been farming for nearly forty years on land that has been in his family for five generations. It’s a job he’s always known and he loves everything about it, especially working there with his three younger brothers.
Harvest is Fred’s favorite time of year because it’s the culmination of all the hard work, long hours, and financial investments. Fred finds a real sense of accomplishment in delivering a high-quality crop to a mill for processing and distribution here in the U.S. and to global export markets, too.
“People around the world have consumed rice for thousands of years,” says Fred. “And I don’t think that’s going to change.”
