Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 medium apple, peeled and chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 3 cups cooked brown rice
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 6 hamburger buns, toasted
- assorted condiments
Directions
- Heat 1 tablespoon oil in large skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Add onion, apple, garlic and sage; cook 3 to 5 minutes or until onion is tender. Remove from heat.
- Combine onion mixture, turkey, rice, ketchup, salt and pepper in large bowl. Shape into patties.
- Heat remaining 1 tablespoon oil in same skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Cook burgers 6 minutes per side or until thoroughly cooked.
- Serve on buns with condiments.
